The film looks like complete idiocy to me and I don't know why any Armenian would finance it. Maybe it'll be funny maybe not but there's one thing for sure I know: if it goes to full production it will only fuel Western stereotypes about post-soviet countries, especially Armenia.

"Ha ha, look at all the stupid ex-soviet backwards villagers"

Trust me, I have been in the villages and the people are not backwards there. It is mostly a matter of financial and educational disadvantage, although a lot of the time that doesn't even stop them from being just as smart as anyone else. Trust me, in most of the villages it takes 10x more intelligence to survive raising cattle and growing crops than your average Western university professor displays on a daily basis.

Everyone knows their (Armenian) history backwards and forwards. Reading and education are highly valued as well. This is more than you can say for 95% of the American/Western population regardless of whether they live in the city or in rural areas.

      Pathetic.

Oh, as for the colorartion thing:

There are all different shades of Armenians in Armenia, those with pretty dark skin to those who look more Slavic, those who have jet black hair and those who have dirty blonde hair, those who have dark brown eyes and those who have light green or even blue eyes. It doesn't make anyone more/less Armenian, it's just what it is. Anyone claiming someone is not Armenian because they are "lighter" (or "darker" even in some cases) is being ridiculous. I'm very light myself and no one mistook me for anything other than Armenian.

Because Armenians love to laugh, if this movie is done right it can bring more tourists to Armenia and tied with that maybe more movie makes will chose to make their movies in Armenia where they can film in splendid sceneries.
