I vote for Ընկեր Փանջունի because of the illustrations by Alexander Saroukhan!

I would also like to read Ընկեր Փանչունի for that very same reason! The illustrations in it are հրասքանչ!

But seriously, I do think it would be a good book to start off with. Even if no one wants to participate, I may just go ahead and add my own commentary and you peons can add your two cents.

Wow, and here I was thinking all this time that the morbid inside joke about death by tuberculosis was only caught on in my Armenian classrooms! Off the top of my head, I can think of Bedros Tourian, Vahan Derian, Misak Medzarents, Mikael Nalbandian and i'm sure many others that I missed that perished from tuberculosis. Perhaps Bedros Tourian's death is the most tragic, died at such a young age. Drdunchk by him is epic, if I find it i'll scan it and post it here.

In the 19th Century, in any country, a writer wasn't considered to be a real writer unless he/she was dying of consumption!

Of course the explanation probably is that writing was a profession that did not need heavy physical labour and that could be pursued from one's sickbed, or even from one's deathbed.

            From wikipedia:
TB was romanticized in the nineteenth century. Many people believed TB produced feelings of euphoria referred to as Spes phthisica ("hope of the consumptive"). It was believed that TB sufferers who were artists had bursts of creativity as the disease progressed. It was also believed that TB sufferers acquired a final burst of energy just before they died that made women more beautiful and men more creative.

I wrote a poem in metaphors of an important Armenian event and I have a unique challenge how to place it.

                    Any suggestions?
