The Eurovision Production Team of the Public Television of Armenia has announced their decision on the 2013 representative: They have internally selected Gor Sujyan, who is the lead singer of the rock band Dorians.

Gor Sujyan is the most popular rock singer in Armenia, and he is famous for his unique voice. He is 25 years old and the son of an Armenian jazz musician, guitar player Mkrtich Sujyan. In 2010 he was crowned "The best male singer" in the annual Armenian National Music Awards.

    Re: Eurovision

That's cool. It'll be different than Armenia's streak of (mostly terrible) ethnopop entries.

But let's admit that Eurovision is annoying and stupid. Turkey has smartly withdrawn this year.

Have any of you heard of the Eurovision Young Musicians contest? I think it's more about classical and folk music so it doesn't attract the same attention and press as the Eurovision Song Contest. Anyway, Armenian kanon player Narek Kazazian participated last year and placed third. The Austrian violinist who placed second is also Armenian (Emmanuel Tjeknavorian).

I don't think its stupid. I think some states that participate do it in a stupid manner. Btw watching a guy play kanon just isnt the same as a woman playing it but still pretty cool skill i think.

The last two contestants were horrid. I hope Gor Sujyan does a little bet better.

What? You mean you actually didn't like Azerbaijan winning and then hosting Eurovision?
