    bands you've never heard of

    post the names/links of bands that rock but are not so well known:

    here, I'll start:

    Pond - early 90s grunge band, very poetic lyrics

    Tilted Walls - some russian band that used to be on mp3.com, but I don't know what's going on with the site nowadays. They're very talented.

    I think the reason why this thread did not work is because one could pull a name off of the marquis of any local club and it would do no good to the people reading here. Also, there are many old rock bands that most people are not familiar with and they are not familiar with them because they do not care about old rock.

    Fantomas has a new album out that has only one 57 minute long track.

      allright, sure, whatever. But the reason I started this thread was because I wanted to find out about more bands that are out there that are worth checking out. I know there are a lot of small bands playing shows at local clubs all the time, but not all of them are good. In fact I think most of them suck. I don't have a whole lot of time on my hands right now to go check them out in person either. So yeah, that was my reasoning for starting the thread. Sucks that it didn't fly, but whatever (I like that word a lot, kinda described my general attitude about everything)

          Ahhhh....the one band that I didn't see opening for TOOL on their last tour. I got to see Meshugga and Tomahawk, both of which....I....didn't care for, let's just put it that way.

          Funny that they have one 57 minute track. I've always invisioned this one, intense and long track on an album. It could be broken up into sections, but would be meant to be played continously. Something along the lines of Rush's 2112 Overature, except more of a none stop flow. If only I actually played an instrument.....or could read and write sheets....or......had....anything to do with music.....

          Anyways, ummm....let's see, not so familiar/popular bands... I don't know of too many off the top of my head. In fact, the only one I can think of at the moment is Kyuss (old school )

            Ever heard Yes's "Tales From Topographic Ocean's"? It is a 2 disc album that has only four tracks. Difficult listening but interesting at times. Rush's 2112 is wonderful.

                Wasn't Jethro Tull's "Brick" only one song?

                You guys should listen to Spiritualized "Lazer Guided Melodies."

                  This is a great album by a great band that not too many people have heard of. They aren't obscure or anything, but they deserve more recognition than they get.
