Introducing someone to Armenian Music

One of my friend is an opera singer and she knows about 11 languages fluently and loves singing an dlistening to music in different languages. I'm gonna go visit her in Chicago in like a week and she wanted me to bring her some Armenian music to listen to. Any suggestions?

And I agree with Tres Bien...if you want Opera, "Anoush" and Gohar Gasparyan are right up there.

I find Alla Levonyan and her music quite annoying.

"Karot" and especially "Hoy Nar" are amazing. "Sevan" and "Hayastan" are pretty good too.
She has a few good songs on her last album too.

Thanks for the suggestions. Although she's an opera singer, she wants to hear different types of Armenian music.

I find Alla Levonyan and her music quite annoying.

She reminds me of "The Crannberries' " singer, which is.....annoying.
