tape transfering to audio file/into the computer

I was wondering if you knew how Its possible to transfer a taperecording into the computer. Ialready have the programs that are needed. Now i have a line in and out put jack on my pc, BUT the question is do i need a output jack on my stereo for it to work? ?

i have a left and right jack in the stereo attaching the cable to the computer already, so do i need another line in jack ?!? I do dont ?

u need an output jack on the tape player & an input jack on the computer. so that u can send the signal from the tape player to the computer. if u have the proper software, then u should be fine. in terms of hardware thats all u need. btw, a headphones jack works as an output jack on the tape player.
