Is this an Armenian instument or a Russian one? I know the Daduk (with all it's thousand spellings) is uniquely Armenian, but I'm trying to find if there are any others that are as well.

Both Zurna and Duduk are Turkish instruments. At least their names are Turkish.

So are the violin, the piano, the guitar, the flute, the harp and the ukulele.

Theres no idea in trying to argue about whom it belongs to originally. The fact is that the zurna and duduk is apart of a long musical tradition in armenia.

That is why armenia is concidered to have some of the worlds best zurna and duduk players...among other things like ukelele players.

Interesting fact on one of the sites I posted: The duduk is believed to be over a thousand years old...that pretty much eliminates any chance of turkish ancestry..
