Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • "Start From Scratch" .. Even if you don't like Rap- Check this

The Compton rapper The Game will release his debut album, "The Documentary" on January 18th but a bunch of people on the internet already have it.. I got my copy 1-2 weeks ago and I wanna share a song with you kids.. Even if you don't like rap music, check this song out.. I know a bunch of people will come in here and hate on the rap music, especially that one guy who follows me around this board, but this song has a nice meaning behind it.. It's called "Start From Scratch" and it features Marsha from Floetry.. Here's the song

    Code:
    http://s10.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=28CZ3S4LQS7P13HNAI1MUHYW55
Listen to this track.. Listen to his words, most importantly listen to his VOICE.. Can you hear his voice? Do you notice something strange about his voice?

Voice keeps cracking.. Sounds like he's crying..?

The Game was supposed to record this track one night when his best friend got shot and killed.. He spent the whole night drinking excessively.. You can tell by the way he raps this song.. He's on the verge of crying, he's tipsy and he barely controls himself.. The meaning of the song is great- to go back in time and change your ways.. Would you? The Game says he wouldn't- because what you did in the past makes you who you are today..

Honestly, fuck the hate on rap music.. Check this song out.. Listen to the words, the meaning, his voice.. I love the way this song was done..

If the link dies, I'll up a new one.. Get at me on AIM if you need anything else or the whole album.. My AIM is - dReMiNeM 2 o 0 1

        The CD is bananas man.

Go get it. The first 200,000 copies comes with a DVD showing the making of the CD and a day in the life of The Game.

Didn't Young Buck's CD come with a DVD showing a day in the life of The Game?

Anyway, it's all good, the DVD's are fun to watch..

I wouldn't call the CD bananas but compared to the trash rappers put it out in 2004, this CD is great..

That's cuz all the trash rappers put out soo far have been coming from all this southern crunk B.S.

The westcoast has always come out with quality stuff since Pac's death. Chronic 2001, WC - Terrorist Threats, and countless others. Same with the Eastcoast, but not too many. It's all the southern crap that's watering down rap to B.S.

Why dance to something that's gay?
True rap is not meant to dance to in the first place... it's a voice for the streets.

Additionally, yea...the girls can get low.... but then again so do all these 10 year olds who plead their moms and sucker them into buying the Lil Jon and Chingy B.S.

Lately, rap has been sooo comercialized and sugar coated man. It's pretty pathetic. We need more rap either stictly from the west coast or the east coast.... none of that southern or northern crap.

That's why I like The Game's album. It goes back to the basics and then some.

The Game album is an average mainstream product...He was supposed to bring the west back, but I guess he let some people down. Lyrically, this album was weak(with a few exceptions). All he talks about his...dre this, eazy that, I shot up your block with a hollow point gat. Basically his whole content...I liked the beats though, west side story had probably the best beat on there.

Why is Game do so much name droping...?

Yes, but what else can I dance to? I agree- rap is a voice for the streets but you gotta make exceptions.. You NEED something for the club.. What else is gonna bang the club? I can't put on a Lil Jon song and listen to it but it's made for the club.. That's where it'll stay

It's all about money, my friend. Why should rappers put out albums with great meaning and nice lyrics- which won't give them any radioplay and won't sell to these kids.. They rather make club bangers and radio hits because that's where the money's at- THAT'S what sells.. Like it or not, it's true.

I've got to agree. All he talks about his Dre, Eazy, and NWA.. Shit is, even though it's not great- compared to 2004's music- it was perfect.. I've lowered my expectations for music A LOT over the years.. Music will never be what it was.. Who knew Eminem would sour down to pop bullshit? Who knew Snoop would put his name down so much and go with Pharell? I miss Hip-Hop but even though The Game's album wasn't great, compared with what else we see, it makes it more enjoyable.
