Do you like their music . I'm not armenian, in fact I'm from Romania but I like their music and thier fabulous playing style.
I like the music of John Bilezikjian, Richard Hagopian,John Berberian, xxxx Barsamian (from Ara Topouzian Ensemble) , Leo Derderian.
I know that all are armenians and all I can say is that.. armenians know how to make GOOD MUSIC.

i am familiar with these musicians and agree they are good, but in my opinion the best armenian oud players are haig yazdjian and ara dinkjian. yazdjian lives in greece and dinkjian lives in new jersey.

he also has a great cd called "yeraz" that i listen to constantly. it's yazdjian together with some greek musicians.

for dinkjian get the cd "the many sides of onnik" (do a search on google, you should find it). another gorgeous one is "ta kormia kai ta maxairia", an album he did with the greek singer eleftheria arvanitaki.

btw, eastern armenians don't like this kind of music b/c it sounds too turkish to them. a shame really.
