      I think he had cancer. I saw him December and he looked really weak and fragile.

        Paul Baghdadlian

        Paul Baghdadlian is considered one of the most popular Armenian singers throughout the world and has been performing since the 1970s, when he started his career in the Middle East, later broadening his reach to the U.S., Europe and around the world.

        He has written and produced hundreds of hit songs, mainly love ballads that have had a unique impact on the lives many Armenians across the globe.

        Baghdadlian’s Facebook page was inundated with condolences.

        In an interview in Beirut last year, Paul Baghdadlian said that one of the happiest moment for him is when he hears that two Armenians got married after meeting at one of his concerts.

              Sadly, the icon has passed on as Paul died today after battling a long illness.

                According to singer Joseph Krikorian, he stated today it was due to cancer. Paul drank a lot, and (i don't know to what degree) also used hard drugs. Such a waste. There's no more Paul. May he rest in peace.

                  It's the hard drugs that ruined him. Took cocaine and hashish in his lifetime but alas, that's the life of many singers. What a waste indeed...

                      Thank you for listing the news on Paul. It is a great loss indeed. He did live a full life. He was a success story in that he achieved
                      what he set out for himself from early on.
