Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

You haven't lived in New York long enough. Men that drive such cars are indeed middle aged and can afford good dental work, however they are trying to hold on to their fading youth by getting extreme tans, overpoweringly white teeth, hair plugs and silk shirts to cover their ascending pregnant bellies. A lot of them inherited businesses and wealth from their parents and really never had to work their asses off, at least not how I would imaging "working your ass off" to be.

Maybe I am a little biased, but cars of this sort are too posh for me, they just scream too loud for attention and reek of pretentiousness.

Speculating on the character of people who drive them is equally pretentious.

No it's called analysis of a character. You can tell a lot from someone’s behavior and their possessions. Much can be said about the person simply from the sort of books he/she reads, or the friends he/she has.

Yes, and I am sure you have delved so deep into the lives of the people who own those cars. I am not saying there is no such person but saying all of this just from looking at a car just shows you are predisposed to attack wealth.

Absolutely untrue! I am "predisposed" to attack priorities and values. In addition I am very judgmental about how I feel wealth should be applied. In the case of this care it's more of an inflated pompousness: "Hey, I drive this massively expensive machine, therefore I must be important and well respected." Same as how I feel about those stupid Luis Vuitton bags.

Yeah...well...as persuasive of a statement as that is ... .... it still doesn't take away from the hideousness of this vehicle. I don't care how it's engineered, I don't care what the price tag is, and being retro or not bears no significance. None of this takes away from the grossly disproportionate design (and not in a good way, either), and the fact that the over all styling looks like a hunch back old man (kind of like the majority of its owners ). If that spells classy for you, fear not. I believe they have pills for that.

And for those that say "people who have worked hard enough to afford this type of luxury are not being pretentious by buying such luxury", you're over looking the obvious. Most of these people dont buy cars like this to enjoy the fruits of their labor (or the good fortune of inheriting their parents fortune). In fact, most people who buy vehicles like this don't know JACK about cars (I said most). These types of cars are heralded as the best and held in high regards within the social structure of the upper upper class. That's the only reason most know of them, let alone buy them. Also, if they were truly buying it to enjoy it, it would be one thing, but I can guarantee you they'll never come close to using half the options and amenities offered. Soooooo......you buy a vehicle you don't truly know anything about, and that you can't even enjoy all the features with....what possible honest reason does this leave you with to buy such indulgence? Oooooohhh, that's right. You have to make sure everyone knows you have the means to purchase such extravagance. Would that not be the very definition of pretentious? This isn't speculation, this is a tried and true rational, through personal experience as well as the experience of others. I also have met very wealthy people who you never would have guessed have my entire life time's salary already in their bank account. They're not concerned with letting everyone know what they have, or "fitting in" with their "appropriate social class". What they do and buy is based on what they like, not what others expect of them, or what would makes others envious of them. So, this isn't so much about hating wealth as opposed to disliking people's lack of class, rich or not. There's nothing classy about prodigality.
