The 2006 corvette has a 6.0 engine but the zo6 model has the LS7 engine which is 7.0 liters.

I agree that the new Corvette is a very awesome car - I'd love to have one but a 2 seater isn't in the cards for me right now and - for what I value if I was spending that kind of $$$ on a sports car it would probable be the Porsche Boxster S...though I imagine - for half the price I would be satisfied with a Honda S2000...understanding that neither of these latter two pull out into the triple digits the same way as the Corvette with its monster engine and gobs of torque does (in whichever engine guise....)...all would be great fun at the track...and while the new Corvette has excellent chassis dynamics and roadholding (so they say - haven't driven one) - its still on the bulky side for me (for a 2 seater) and I think I'd prefer tossing the smaller/lighter Boxster or S2000 around better in the twisties...

Yeah P - Exactly! That comparo is right on the money! Its all in what you value. Sure brute power (and OK - great balance & roadholding etc) is great - of course - but what the Porsche gives you is that totally conected driving pleasure. It may make you work a bit harder - but the rewards are plenty. I wish I had one!!!!

I sitll have my old Supercharged MR2 T-tops - a car that is in many ways similar to the Porsche. As I own a bunch of cars - and they cost $$$$ my wife has made an issue of me putting $$$ inot the car right now (probalby cost me about $3K to get it back on the road)...but - at least for the moment I'm still keeping it...and one day (cus it ain't likley I'll be plunking down Porsche kind of $ anytime soon - for a 2 seater in any event...)..still I do have a few fun cars to drive around....so I'm pretty happy...just miss that super tossability and roadholding (used to run on Yoko semi-slicks - summer only car you know....)
