Yeah, but a little too expensive.

I test drove the 6 speed TL a few days and I was not very pleased. It had a comfortable ride and the power was not bad, but the clutch was very soft. Thats very annoying when do some aggresive driving.Originally posted by GSTracer051) The new Audi A4 2.0L Turbo

I've read some of the reviews for this car, and it looks pretty bad. A lot of complaint over the rear seats, the fact that it's engine is weaker than the new Camry's (which I don't know anything about, and how nothing is standard. You have to add on everything for this car, making the price jump to near $40,000. I'll have to test-drive it and see this for myself to see what decision I'll make. Anyone know how much a 5 series would cost out the door?

BMW 5 series would likely be in the 50s if not more. What are you - an 18 year old kid - doing considering a BMW 5 series - thats an old persons car...and it certainly isn't a sports car - its an overly heavy luxo-tank. Get something fun - small and manueverble and fun to drive - and learn to drive a stick - a much more enjoyable and rewarding driving experience.
The TL is FWD with gobs of torque steer, wheel hop under power (not good) and a diffucult to use clutch and shifter (really odd IMO). Otherwise its a very nice car - well appointed, comfortable, moderatly fast and it looks good. I like the G35 better (RWD for one). Another nice car might be the Mazda RX-8. It is lighter on its feet and more tossable/fun to drive then the G35 and nearly as fast. Not too familiar with the new Lexus IS300 but I bet its nice. If I was thining Audi I might hold out for the new A3. Cheaper then the A4 (which is a bit overpriced) and likely less of a road hog. Audis are very nice (I have a screaming 2001 S4 Avant) but Quattro (an awesome system - still the best performance wise IMO) makes them heavy - they really don't move out properly until they are modded. They also are unreliable - too many little things costing way too much money break too often....my air conditioning is out at the moment for instance - and its always something...
I wouldn't recommend the base low end Mercedes - get in one and you will see why...also realibility now worse then Audi...3 series BMW much better car for the money.
Suburu Legacy - new ones - seem nice and priced right - haven't driven one yet.
Lots of nice cars really - but no need for a big hog car eh?

Something interesting.. What's the difference between the 2004 BMW 5 series and the 2005 BMW 5 series? The body looks the same - unless something minor has been changed - has it? As far as the engine and everything goes, what's the difference? Because I was thinking.. My sisters friend wants to sell his '04 5 Series, and it looks like the new ones, and I wanted to know how much he was selling it for. He told my sister he would just hand over his payment- he pays $560 a month. Now.. The thing is. Let's say I took his payment. Instead of putting a down payment on my new car, can't I give some of that money to BMW or something, and lower my monthly payment of $560? If the '04 and the '05 are the same, I would want to do that. I also wanna know, let's say I was to lease the new 3 series for 5 years - with like a $3,000-$4,000 down - how much would that monthly payment be? If it's pretty much the same, shiiiit, I rather go for the 5 series.
I may be sounding stupid and missing out something important, but someone let me know.

I checked this car out in person today, for the first time. I only got to see the 330i, and it was ok. The interior wasn't so great but I'm sure with the right add's, it'll be fine. The backseats were ok, a little bigger legroom than the G35. I went to the one in Glendale and they were busy as hell with only 1 330i, so I didn't test drive it. Then I went to the one in Van Nuys and they had no 325i's available - so I didn't drive it there either. I still don't know. Still, don't, know.
