Lexus is an excellent car and I wouldn't mind owning it one day. Benz is quite ridiculous and I simply can't disassociate negative images with that manufacturer. It's not even about status as much as it is about stereotypes, they are basically catering to a specific type of people (Guidos, russian mob, rabiz, suburban housewives, etc.) They should have Soprano and Celentano as their spokespeople.
