Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Svante Cornell: Moscow's blatant aggression in South Ossetia, aimed at locking Georgia out of Nato, should be resisted by the EU and US

End of the line for Georgia, Russian tanks head toward Tiflis to level capital

      source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7550804.stm

      'At war'

Georgian forces launched the latest in a series of artillery attacks on Tskhinvali early on Saturday, according to a South Ossetian government spokeswoman.

Russian forces said they had fought back, and fierce clashes were reported by Russian news agencies overnight.

Georgia meanwhile said that Russia had launched air strikes on targets outside of South Ossetia, in what it described as "a full-scale military invasion".

The Georgian authorities also said they were expecting a Russian attack on the capital, Tbilisi, and have evacuated some government offices in the city.

Georgian President Saakashvili said Russia was at war with his country.

Late on Friday, the Georgian national security council said Mr Saakashvili was poised to declare a state of emergency.

Three Russians killed in S Ossetia

              A Russian peacekeeper near Tskhinvali
The Russian military says three of its peacekeeping troops have been killed in South Ossetia overnight, bringing the total losses to 15.

Igor Konashenkov, an aide to Russia's infantry commander said on Saturday that 22 peacekeepers wounded in fighting with Georgian forces were evacuated from South Ossetian capital Tskhinvali, bringing the total number of wounded to 70.

Fierce clashes continue between Russian and Georgian forces in South Ossetia for the second day while the UN Security Council has so far failed to reach an agreement for calling an end to hostilities in the breakaway region.

South Ossetia declared its independence from Georgia following the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 and the Georgian leadership has said that it's determined to bring the region back under central control.

Georgian military forces began a large-scale military offensive against the South Ossetian separatists on Thursday evening.

South Ossetian sources reportedly put the death toll from the fighting at around 1,400 people.

Meanwhile, Russian army units have arrived in the breakaway region to reinforce peacekeepers, Konashenkov told the Russian television. Additional 'special units' would arrive in South Ossetia 'in the next few hours', he said.

I agree. I’m wondering if there is any pro-Russian opposition in Georgia. I know there wasn’t any during “democratic” (according to the West) presidential elections.

Parts of Russia's 76th Air Assault Division, from Russia's famous VDV "Vozdushno-Desantnye Vojska" (Russian Airborne Troops) the Blue Berets, just touched down in Tskhinvali.

Georgian regular army are mostly young kids who are already scared to death, as for their reservists then the majority of them are unfit, middle-aged men with very little military experience. If Saakashvili sends them to fight against Russia's 76th then the Gerogians will be slaughtered, that's guaranteed.

P.S. Just heard that Russia is about to send to South Ossetia also the 98-th Air Assault Division, and the Spetznaz from the 45-th Special Division. This particular Division specializes in operations deep inside the enemy territory. Imagine if they have orders to capture Saakashvili and his closest associates and deliver them to Russia. As Medvedev said "no one will escape punishment for their crimes". If the reports of over 2,000 deaths of the peaceful population alone is true then I think Russia has more than enough grounds to charge Saakashvili with war crimes.

By the way, a few hours ago I received unofficial reports that Saakashvili had a heart scare and he is feeling very ill so much so that the talk is to fly him to Ankara's top militrary hospital for an urgent operation. But remember this information could be wrong because it is unofficial.

He either got really sick, which is possible considering the mess he put his people and country in, or it's his excuse to flee to mother Turkey to save his miserable arse. Either way Saakashvili is history because his American masters have no choice but to unofficially declare him being in the wrong in order to save their own faces since this whole fiasco was orchestrated from Washington. US just never thought that Russia would "dare" to counter attack Georgia itself and with such intensity and vigour.
