What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

    'Man Marries Goat' Captivates Millions
    Published: 12:01AM BST 03 May 2007

The subject of one of the BBC’s most popular online news stories, a Sudanese goat who was “married” to a man found having sex with her, has died.

Rose, the black and white goat, became an internet phenomenon after her owner discovered the man, Charles Tombe, copulating with the animal in February last year.

Local elders in the South Sudan capital, Juba, forced Mr Tombe to pay a dowry of 15,000 Sudanese dinars (£25) to the goat’s owner and wed her as punishment.

They also named the goat Rose.

“The idea was to publicly embarrass the man,” said Tom Rhodes, editor of the Juba Post, which first reported the incident.

Mr Tombe said he was drunk at the time but has since refused to comment on the issue.

The BBC picked up the story and its report of the “wedding” became one of its best-read internet stories, receiving several million hits.

Today the BBC reported that Rose had died after apparently choking on a plastic bag she swallowed while eating scraps on the streets of Juba.

After her “marriage”, Rose had a male kid – but “not a human one”, Mr Rhodes told the BBC.

The kid is owned by Mr Tombe. The BBC said that even after more than a year - the story was first reported in February 2006 - it was still being picked up by various web forums and emailed across the globe.

During one recent five-day period it received more than 100,000 page views.

The BBC said a Google search brought up more than one million web pages carrying reports based on its story.

Mr Rhodes, a Briton who helped found the Juba Post in 2004, said he was shocked when he learned the size of the global audience that had read the story his newspaper initially ran as a short, light-hearted account and did not even publish on its website.

“Wow – what have we done? We have triggered a monster,” he told the BBC.

He said he feared local people might accuse his paper of tarnishing the image of the South Sudan, a region trying to rebuild itself after 21 years of war, but said he had encountered no such anger.

“It doesn’t portray Sudan in a bad light – it shows the Sudanese have a sense of humour.”

South Sudan remained a conservative society, Mr Rhodes told the BBC.

If a man is caught sleeping with a girl, he is ordered to marry her immediately in order to save her honour and that of her family.

That was the basis for Mr Tombe’s punishment. Afterwards, he took the goat home with him to the Hai Malakal suburb of Juba.

F***ing authorities clamp down on f***ing tourists

Authorities in the Austrian village of F***ing have installed CCTV cameras in an attempt to stop tourists acting out the name in front of their road signs.

One of the F***ing road signs: obviously it's not pixellated in real life
The tiny rural hamlet has been plagued by visitors filming themselves in sexually explicit positions with the name 'F***ing' in the background.

'I'm sure each of them think they're the first to think of it, but believe me they're not. We've grown very tired of it and we're doing something about it,' said one fed up resident of the village near Salzburg, which has a population of just 104.

'We are a very traditional community and we find this sort of public display shocking,' the F***ing resident added.

Now CCTV cameras are going up above the town name signs to deter tourists from going all the way.

'It might make them think twice and just pose for a picture instead,' said one hopeful local.

The village's name is believed to come from a sixth century noble called Lord Focko, with 'ing' being old German for 'family of'.

In 2004, residents voted against changing the name of the village, despite the rising costs of replacing the F***ing road signs every time souvenir-hungry tourists stole them.

Bulgarian Farmer Swaps Wife for GOAT
        Published: 12:01PM BST 11 Apr 2008

A luckless Bulgarian farmer who was been married three times has decided to try his hand at marriage one last time - with a goat.

Stoil Panayotov exchanged his third wife with Elena the eight-year-old goat at a livestock market in March - because she couldn't provide him with a child.

The extraordinary deal was concluded in front of a stunned crowd in the market town of Plovdiv, central Bulgaria.

"The day before a friend told me that he has had no luck with women and that he really liked my wife," says the 54-year-old. "The deal was reached when my wife gave her approval.

"The goat has given birth to three kids and my wife to none.

"So this deal was more profitable to the goat owner, I got a second-hand goat and he got a brand new wife."

Last year, the marriage of a man and a Sudanese goat became the subject of international attention when the story was picked up by the BBC website.

The black and white goat named Rose became an internet phenomenon after her owner discovered the man, Charles Tombe, copulating with the animal.

In accordance with Sudanese tradition, Mr Tombe was forced to marry Rose and pay a dowry of 15,000 Sudanese dinars (£25).

Rose has since died after choking on a plastic bag while eating scraps on the streets of Juba.

In India last year, a man also made the headlines after marrying a dog on the advice of his astrologer.

        P. Selvakumar, a 33-year-old farm labourer from the southern state of Tamil Nadu, married the four-year-old stray xxxxx after it was bathed and processed to his village temple dressed in an orange sari and garlanded with flowers.

The marriage took place on the advice of the man's astrologer who said it was the only way to atone for his actions of more than 20 years ago.

He was reported to have suffered a series of physical ailments after stoning the dogs to death and hanging their bodies from a tree.

“After that my legs and hands got paralysed and I lost hearing in one ear,” said Mr Selvakumar after the ceremony with his new "bride", whose name is Selvi.

A reception attended by some 200 guests was held for the newlyweds in the groom's house during which Selvi grew restless and ran away.

However she was subsequently recaptured and returned to her husband who gave her milk and a bun to eat.

It is understood that the groom is still free to find a human wife should he be inclined.

Tourist orgy cruises cause stir in Cyprus
            Last updated 05:00 23/07/2009

Cypriots are in a lather over claims of wild sex orgies by tourists on Cyprus' high seas, giving the Romans a run for their money.

Photographs documenting the sexual escapades of groups of young tourists to the island's popular resort of Ayia Napa were printed in the Norwegian press, following similar claims involving British and Scandinavian holidaymakers in 2006.

Once a sleepy fishing village, Ayia Napa is popular with families for its pristine beaches but since 2000 has gained a reputation as a clubber's paradise, attracting hoardes of young partygoers.

The photographs were reportedly taken on board local ferries which offer night cruises off the coast of Cyprus.

"The photographs we see do not respect us at all. They show a bad image which is not the true image of Ayia Napa," said Ayia Napa mayor Antonis Tsokkos.

Giorgos Economou, a local police spokesman, told Reuters that similar stories about such cruises surfaced every year in the foreign press.

"The boats are checked every day by the port police and no evidence has been found as yet to suggest such activities are going on."

"But we wouldn't be able stop them when they're in the middle of the open seas doing their business," Economou said.

                Monopoly game turns violent
                Last updated 10:48 31/07/2009

A game of Monopoly has landed a US man in prison - with no get-out-of-jail-free card.

WDIV-TV reported a 54-year-old man was playing the board game on Saturday night with a female friend when he tried to buy Park Place and Boardwalk from her.

When she refused, Fraser police Lt Dan Kolke told WWJ-AM he hit her in the head, breaking her glasses.

The man was arrested and charged with misdemeanour assault and battery.

'Stolen' car found 2 years later accidentally parked in neighbour's garage
                  Published: Thursday, July 30, 2009 | 9:25 AM ET
                  Canadian Press THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

BERLIN - An Audi sedan written off by an elderly German woman as stolen two years ago has resurfaced - in her neighbour's garage beneath a thick layer of dust.

Police said Thursday the 82-year-old from the northern city of Hildesheim took the car in for repairs two years ago and had the mechanics drive it back to her house and park it in her garage.

She got the keys and papers from her mailbox, but when she went to get the car it was nowhere to be found. So she reported it stolen.

Fast forward to Wednesday when her neighbour went to clean up his unused garage so it could be rented. He found the car under "a centimetre-deep coating of dust."

It didn't take police long to piece together that the mechanics had parked it in the wrong garage.

Lucky escape: German cat rescued from hot wash cycle
                  Published: Friday, July 31, 2009 | 10:50 AM ET
                  Canadian Press THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

BERLIN - A German cat has been rescued just in time from a washing machine that was embarking on a hot cycle.

The Hannover fire service says the cat crept into the washing machine and spent the night there after its owner loaded it with clothes.

Unaware that the cat was inside, the owner's sons switched the machine on Friday morning - choosing the 90 degree Celsius, or 194 degree Fahrenheit, cycle.

Alerted by loud noises, the boys' mother discovered the cat and called the fire service. Officers arrived minutes later and stopped the machine.

By that time, the water had reached about 30 Celsius, or 86 Fahrenheit.

The cat was unhurt, but fire service spokesman Martin Argendorf says it was taken to a vet for checks and will remain there until Monday.
