I have a sneeking admiration for whoever was skillfull enough to have pulled it off!
Reminds me of the stamps that were produced by the Channel Islands during the German occupation, look at them closely and they are covered in "V for Victory" symbols, but the Germans were too arrogant to notice what was right under their noses!
What can I say...I am sure the people who put up the lights do as they are told, the Turks said they wanted it red and white and so they did. As for everyone else I am sure they were just blind or just went along with whatever Turkey wanted for the festival.

Just pretend it's the colors for the flag of Canada or Denmark or Communism.... all the same anyhow.
