What can I say...I am sure the people who put up the lights do as they are told, the Turks said they wanted it red and white and so they did. As for everyone else I am sure they were just blind or just went along with whatever Turkey wanted for the festival.Originally posted by bell-the-cat View PostI've got a scan of it somewhere - it has sets of three stylised tulips, with their red flower-heads made into crescent shapes. It's obviously a deliberate reference to the symbol beloved by Turkish fascists - but you would have to know the symbol to make the connection, which is probably why it slipped through. I have a sneeking admiration for whoever was skillfull enough to have pulled it off!
Reminds me of the stamps that were produced by the Channel Islands during the German occupation, look at them closely and they are covered in "V for Victory" symbols, but the Germans were too arrogant to notice what was right under their noses!

I haven't seen that anywhere but I would agree, that would be similar to a swastika.
My God, if that's true, Europe is doomed worse than I've imagined.

They should have also put a crescent on top lol
I don't remember France doing the same with the Armenian flag during the year of Armenia in France...

It hated Germany a hell of a lot, especially in the early 20th century, the whole Bismark invading Alsace Lorraine...they never got over it.Originally posted by Parskahay View Postfrance and french people cant hate any nation and race its their nature

Would we see literature about a French "Season of Germany" having covers with a pattern of swastikas? Yet the "Season of Turkey" publicity has the equivalent, the fascistic MHP / Gray Wolf triple crescent symbol. Cudos though to the designer who managed to slip it in unnoticed, though I bet he/she is getting a bit annoyed that the audience is still too ignorant to notice what they are looking at.

A sl-utty dress that perfectly suits the prostitute. Both turkey and the tower were made by free masons.
