- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)

- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

KURDISH REBELS ATTACK TURKEY NAVAL BASE

    Yerevan

Kurdish militants fired rockets at a Turkish naval base Monday killing
six troops in the latest assault on a military target since a jailed
Kurdish militant leader signaled an end to peace efforts.

Seven soldiers were wounded in the attack on a military vehicle
carrying troops to guard duty in the southern city of Iskenderun,
Hatay province, provincial governor Mehmet Celalettin Lekesiz was
quoted as saying by Anatolia news agency.

The attack was carried out by members of the "separatist terrorist
organisation", Lekesiz said, using the official jargon for the outlawed
Kurdistan Workers\' Party (PKK) leading a 25-year insurgency.

Media reports said three of the wounded soldiers were in critical
condition in a military hospital in Ankara.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility by the PKK, whose
leader Abdullah Ocalan decided to abandon efforts to seek dialogue

    Istanbul bomb attack wounds 15

    Istanbul bomb attack wounds 15

A roadside bomb attack on a police vehicle in Istanbul wounded 15 people on Tuesday, Turkish police and news reports said.

The bomb went off in the Kucukcekmece district, on the outskirts of the city, as the vehicle was passing. Police officers in the vehicle and a number of passers-by were hurt.

Istanbul police Chief Huseyin Capkin told the state-run Anatolia news agency that none of the injuries was serious. He said police were investigating whether the bomb was exploded by remote control.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but Kurdish rebels who have carried out similar attacks on police in the past have recently intensified their activities.

Kurdish rebel chief Abdullah Ocalan said last week he had abandoned efforts to seek dialogue with Turkey. Radical leftist and Islamic groups also operate in the city.

"There is no information on the culprits for now. We will work to find them," Capkin said.

      Istanbul bus bombing kills 4

An explosion tore through a bus carrying military personnel in Istanbul Tuesday, killing four people and wounding 12, local officials say.

Gov. Huseyin Avni Mutlu said two of the wounded were in critical condition following the early morning attack. The state-run Anatolia news agency said the dead included the 17-year-old daughter of an officer.

The roadside bomb went off on a usually quiet side road as the bus passed shortly after leaving a military housing complex, NTV television said.

CNN-Turk television said there was no immediate claim of responsibility but that Kurdish rebels are believed to be behind the attack. The rebel group rarely claims responsibility for its attacks.

Kurdish rebels have staged bomb attacks in Istanbul in the past but the last major bomb attack in the city was in 2007, when 17 people were killed.

Kurdish rebels fighting for autonomy in the country's Kurdish-dominated southeast have dramatically stepped up their attacks on Turkish targets this month and had threatened to expand their war to cities in the west of the country.

Turkish troops killed seven Kurdish rebels in the country's north and southeast in two separate clashes overnight, the Anatolia agency said. The rebels have killed at least 13 soldiers in the region since Friday.

Kurdish rebels dramatically stepped up their attacks on June 1, accusing Turkey of not establishing dialogue with them or imprisoned Kurdish rebel chief Abdullah Ocalan and refusing to declare an unconditional amnesty that would include top rebel leaders, or allow Kurdish language education in schools.

Bursa turned into battlefield between Kurds and Turks

        July 26, 2010 | 13:43

Clashes between Kurds and local nationalists in the Turkish city of Bursa turned into a real battle (photo).

According to Internethaber website, young people stopped a minibus with Kurdish driver. They argued and the driver was beaten. Thereafter, he left and came back with his friends who entered the café of Turkish nationalists and injured 5 people with a knife.

After numerous arrests the tension increased. People took to the streets and police started firing to disperse the crowd. As a result, 6 police cars were turned up and over 20 policemen injured. The crowd attacked the houses and shops owned by Kurds.

The highways leading to Bursa and Eskisehir from Inegol were blocked by Kurds to prevent the arrival of Turkish nationalists at the site.

Former PKK leader: Öcalan controls PKK, deep state controls Öcalan

Hüseyin Yıldırım, the former right-hand man of Abdullah Öcalan -- the jailed leader of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) -- has said that the Ergenekon terrorist organization, an instrument of the deep state, is behind the conflict between Turks and Kurds in Turkey and that Öcalan is also under the control of the deep state.

Yıldırım, who parted ways with the jailed terrorist head years ago, said in an interview with Taraf's Neşe Düzel yesterday that the decades-long conflict in Turkey's Southeast is the work of Ergenekon, a clandestine organization nested within the state and bureaucracy aiming to foment chaos in society and lead to a military takeover.

Yıldırım thinks that the environment of chaos in Turkey cannot end as long as Ergenekon maintains its grip over the country. “The environment of chaos cannot end unless Turkey does away with Ergenekon. It is Ergenekon that wants a clash between Turks and Kurds. The deep state wants weapons shot. Öcalan controls the PKK and the deep state controls Öcalan,” Yıldrım said.

Öcalan, captured in 1999 in Nairobi, Kenya, was initially sentenced to death but his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment when the death penalty was abolished in Turkey in August 2002. He has been serving a life sentence on İmralı Island in the Marmara Sea since his capture.

“Öcalan made an agreement with the deep state at İmralı to save his life. A program was given to him [by the deep state] and he is following it. He had made this public previously. He said that he was told to leave some 500 PKK members in Turkey when transferring others to northern Iraq [after his capture] and he had left them. The 500 PKK members were left in Turkey to be used in clashes because an environment of clashes is needed for the deep state,” Yıldırım said.

Noting that he cannot say for certain whether Öcalan’s links with the deep state date back to the period before his capture, Yıldırım says he is sure that Öcalan has been cooperating with the deep state since his capture. “He surrendered to the deep state after his capture. He said ‘okay’ to whatever it said. This is crystal clear. You have to be blind if you cannot see that,” Yıldırım noted.

Turkey has fought the terrorist PKK since 1984, when it was set up with the goal of establishing an autonomous Kurdish state in the eastern and southeastern parts of Turkey. More than 40,000 soldiers and civilians have been killed in clashes thus far.

The PKK has been declared a terrorist organization by the international community, including the US and the EU.

When reminded of Öcalan’s earlier remarks that Ergenekon had infiltrated the PKK, Yıldırım said: “He implies [PKK leaders] Şemdin Sakık and Selim Çürükkaya. This is in fact putting his own crimes on the shoulders of others. This is an effort to protect himself. In a book written by Mahir Sayan, he says the National Intelligence Organization [MİT] gave him money and weapon for two years.”

Although he is jailed, Öcalan is known to have continued to direct the terrorist organization. Öcalan recently announced the end of the PKK’s unilateral cease-fire with Turkey, which it declared in April of last year, paving the way for the recent escalation of violence in Turkey.

As for the question on what the PKK aims to achieve now, Yıldırım said the terrorist organization does not currently have a policy. “They want two things before laying down arms. One of these is the freedom of Apo [the nickname of Öcalan]. The second is equal citizenship for Kurds. If the state does not accept these, the weapons cannot be silenced.

Stating that many people who opposed Öcalan were killed by the members of the organization on Öcalan’s order, Yıldırım said it is “coincidental” that he survived. “Öcalan said of every person he ordered to be killed, ‘He was going to eliminate me’,” he said.

Kurds started their war for independence, in Turkey. This will be long and severe battle with the barbarians. Kurds have few supporters outside. We should seek/find proper ways of supporting them.
