I really don't want to carry around gold or silver coins. At the same time, paper money is worthless. What's even more worthless is plastic/credit. I guess it's back to paying by trading cows/chickens and daughters.

The currencies are being manipulated because although the Canadian dollar is stronger than the U.S. dollar, products in Canada still cost a lot more than in the U.S. So in order to reap the benefits of the exchange rate, the purchase has to be made in the U.S. If the Canadian dollar really had the buying power that's represented by the exchange rate, it would be cheaper to buy in Canada but that's not the case.

Some people like to think that owning a home worth nearly a million dollars in markets like Toronto or Vancouver makes them rich but really it just means that the value of their house is ARTIFICIALLY INFLATED and their million dollar "investment" could tank like the prices in the U.S. and they might be stuck owing more on their home than it's worth.

This just goes to show that the U.S. is still being used as the capital or main market of price manipulation for the entire world which is why other countries or regions want to disconnect themselves from American manipulation.
