This is pretty much the biggest most obvious statement that all Armenians in the diaspora who are truly concerned about what it means to be Armenian must consider.

In the long-run the diaspora will disappear. Any hope of maintaining Armenian culture lies in Armenia.

If anyone doubts this, all one has to do is study Armenian history and see how the diasporan communities of Armenians in the Crimea, or Poland, eventually disappeared.

There's really no two ways about it.

Thank you Amrotz, but I wouldn't call what I am doing - repatriation. I have taken the first big step. The rest has to come about gradually and naturally. Nonetheless, I want my children to look at Armenia as a homeland and not as an abstract concept - like when William Saroyan foolishly said anywhere when two Armenians meet see if they don't create a new Armenia...

Armenia can only be in one place - in Armenia. The diaspora is doomed. If we are concerned about Armenia - then we must look towards Armenia.

I want Armenia to be an actual/physical home for me and my children.

Good luck, comrade. I'm in your neighborhood by the way.

Do you mean that there's a chance that he was being serious? Hard to believe. I honestly thought that he was doing the clown and being funny.
    It also made me laugh.

Alright, sorry I assumed it was you, that poster did seem off character to begin with to pass as you, however his brand of name calling reminded me of the variety you have used in the past. Anyway, I'm glad your back Also, I've never been to Armenia but I hope all goes well for you and your family there.
