  • Start of School

Any Students here, I just want to wish a sucessfull year of learning. My school starts the 3rd and being so close to the 1st reminds me of Armenia where every school starts on the 1st. Հաջողություն եմ ցանկանում ձեզ:

    Re: Start of School

I started school today, I spent 4 hours in just public transportation all for 1 class, which was only 5 minutes long today since it was the first one.

Anyway, the journey was nice, I made the best of the traditionally loathsome prospect of going to school by not thinking too much about, well, anything on my way there, I just wanted to feel as homey as possible and it worked, I spared myself of the headache I usually get from analyzing all the people and things I see in the usual subway trip to school.

Since last semester, I've also gained some techniques in speed reading and want to try a different approach to note taking. This year I'm never going to take notes down while the professor talks, only after he's done. I feel my comprehension of the material covered increases this way. I also plan to speed read through all my text books before the 2nd week of the semester is over, that way I'll feel more comfortable each time a teacher starts a new chapter, instead of worrying about having to read it afterwards in order to desperately understand it after class. I've experienced too many times the pain of having a crappy professor with a horrible foreign accent as a source of knowledge I chose to depend upon in my studies due to my lethargy for reading the text material. But I'm sorry, this has to change that this year.

What steps do you plan to take to make your academic year both more enjoyable and productive?

yeah, I feel tired too....... Waking up at 6 and stuff, adding 20 minutes to the alarm time so I can actually get up on my feet without dosing off.

I despised my college, so I'm not going back there. Ever.
