 Re: Desktop or Laptop

Comes down to two things: What are you going to use it for and where do you want to take it?

If you want to use a computer for games and such a laptop is not your best option. If you are going to be using in primarily for productivity (Word, Excel, Internet) you can't go wrong with a laptop.

You also have to consider whether you want to (or will want to in the future) take your computer to places such as the library, college, work, etc.

 Re: Desktop or Laptop

I don't think it's that much more expensive than getting a PC fixed. It'll probably only be slightly more expensive - if at all and depending on the problem. This is why you do research on the PC/laptop beforehand and install good anti-virus/anti-spyware software. Although it is expensive, Norton has never failed me.

I think it should come down to how you want to use the computer - i.e. are you going to be able to use it in the way you want to? If not, getting something you don't want is going to be useless.

 Re: Desktop or Laptop

 Desktop for me.

Everybody in my family owns their own laptop. I'm the only one who never uses one. Ever. I absolutely hate the feel of laptops. I can't type on them and they're too uncomfortable to use. A desktop feels like a computer, whereas a laptop feels so awkward when I use one.

I probably will need a laptop in the future but I will definitely work my way around one. I don't think I will ever be able to edit any piece of film on a laptop. I feel like it's too big of a project to handle on such a small piece of equipment.

A computer is a computer is a computer. If you are comfortable with a desktop, how can a laptop "confuse" you?Originally posted by PepsiAddict View PostI like desktops also I feel more comfortable using them, with laptops its very confusing to me.

...then again, you are PepsiAddict. You are inherently confused.
