The problem is you are not voting for just the person ... you get a huge ideological baggage that comes attached with each. You may love Obama but if you don't agree with the agendas of the Democratic party, you pretty much have no choice but to vote for the other guy.

With the two party system in the US, it's not a matter of who is better but more a matter of who is less bad.

And Obama is less bad. The only possible republican i may have voted for was Mitt Romney.

I don't like either one of the candidates. In fact I am very upset that over a decade we haven't had a decent leader representing our nation. I don't understand the fascination with Obama, other than that he is a democrat and he is half black. I think if people really realized the hard logic that it's simply enough to be a democrat and half black we would half of the nation running for a presidential candidate.

His idea on increasing taxes on the population bringing in $250K is ridiculous. His idea on health care is unrealistic and stupid. His idiotic comment about Pakistan is dangerous. We are already carving out borders around nations we think we should reform he just expanded the border to include Pakistan. Great, we did diddly in Afganistan, we are failing in Iraq, Iran has been targeted, excellent, let's bring in Pakistan in the mix. How exactly are his policies revolutionary or going to repair US's image?

I just worry about one thing with McCain - the possibility of Roe v. Wade reversal. The Supreme court already consists of uber conservative justices who are itching to overturn the decision and throw us back into the years of basement performed abortions. 3 of the current justices are looking to retire, with McCain in power he will replace those 3 with even more conservative justices which is to guarantee a ban on abortion. That would be a total disaster for our nation. Frankly I wouldn't even want to stay here after that. A civilized, modern nation which set the standard for technological innovation and economic wealth is going to have the mentality of a third world nation which still believes in performing female circumcision.

Your thoughts? Do you prefer one over another, and why?
