This business of getting worked up over college acceptence is wasted energy because in the grand scheme of things, it does not matter so much where you get an undergraduate degree, it matters only if you have one.

If I were you I would not worry so much about what college you go to. I would worry about doing well in that institution and making connections while you are there in order to get an edge on the career of your choice.

Also, if for some reason you don't get into the college of your choice, there is always an option to transfer.

You'll have a lot of things to stress over in your life...college acceptance should not be one of them.
Don't think you need to even use your degrees either. There a quite a few people where I live that finished uni and never used their degrees and did something else instead.

In all honesty, the only reason why I need the degree is to teach in the future. It's something that I am considering and would love to do in my lifetime.

Other than that, I'm going to school to network. I'll probably learn a lot in school but only from my own trail and error. Anything they teach me will probably stay in the back of my head without ever truly being applied. Of course, I can be wrong and come to see they're actually pretty good at what they teach.

By the way, I'm applying to film school.

aha. That's the point imo (if you include your teachers into the networking :P). Honestly, you can learn to do stuff on your own from books, so what is there left that you get from school other than a piece of paper that you couldn't do without enrolling?
