Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

    What's up folks?

A few days back, I entered the chatroom for the first time and thought we could play some chat games. Many didn't know how to play though so I thought of opening an official thread to help them out. Whenever someone wants to play/suggest a game, he/she can look here and/or direct the other players here to check out the rules. I'll add games from time to time. For now, here are a few simple ones...

    SOCIAL HOUSE

This game is probably the most successful game I've come up with so far. It is played by my entire family, relatives and friends at the end of the year. What we do is basically get together to remember all the good things that have happened throughout the year and whoever runs out of memories is considered the "loser". Of course, there is no such thing as a loser or winner, that's just a little something I thought of to make everyone try harder to remember all the happy moments. Trust me, it's not always easy. Usually, humans tend to remember only the sad moments in their lives even if they experienced more happy moments then sad ones. It's just human nature. On New Year's Eve though, we like to sit together and just remember all the good things that happened and enter the next year with smiles on our faces.

So throughout the year, what we do is make a list of all the good things that happened or just try to remember them so we won't lose on New Year's Eve !

This game is very simple but is played in turns so before playing this in the chatroom, decide who goes first, second, third, etc. I've also modified the game a bit by allowing all of you to choose a certain theme. For example, good, bad, sad, cool, strange, etc. Now you can talk about whatever you like and not just things that have happened this year but throughout your life if you like.

This game is a great way to get to know people virtually in the chatroom or even in the forums. This game can be played wherever you like.

    COMPLAINT BOX

This is a fairly simple game but requires fast thinking. It's played in many forums and of course in real life. I was thinking we could perhaps translate it into a chat game. It really tests a member’s verbal and thinking skills and if played right, produces truly hilarious moments. Here's how it works:

You choose a theme say for example school, hospital, work, or something else and then start complaining about it in the following way.

Member 1: My hospital is so bad the walls are made of kidney stones.
Member 2: Our hospital is worse, blood is taken with mosquitoes.

So on and so forth. This can be played by any amount of members but one on one is really the most interesting. Everyone else in the chatroom can simply watch the show and in the end, decide who was the funniest.

      21 QUESTIONS

This is the good ol' 21 Questions game ... translated into a chat game. The rules are the same. One member is chosen to think up something in his/her head and the rest of the members must figure out what it is he/she has in mind. Everyone can ask as many questions as they like but every question counts and if they exceed 21, they will lose. Whoever guess's correctly will get to think up something next.

I've modified the game a bit so you can change the limit if you like. By limit I mean you can change 21 to any other number you wish. This comes in handy when you want to play longer games or when there are MANY players.

        ONE LINE

In this game, members start a story but can contribute only one sentence and in turns. They can finish it or leave it incomplete e.g. Jason went to school..., allowing the next member to complete it. It's a simple game but most play it in forums or physically at school, etc. I thought it be interesting to translate it into a chat game. Could be fun as any amount of members can play. Try it out...

          LIAR LIAR

This is a fairly simple game I played the other day with a few members here in HyeClub. Decide who goes first, second, etc. and then tell a lie related to the member who goes after you. For example, it's my turn and it's Anna's turn next. I have to tell a lie related to her such as, for example, Anna went to work without her shoes today. Naturally, most members aren't that polite when they play this game !
