    Re: Keeping CPU Clean

Pepsi, some programs I used to run on my old PC a couple times a month were Adaware and Spybot: Search and Destroy. Be careful with Spybot, it tends to make backup copies of all the deleted files.

Anonymouse, registry cleaners are useless for speeding up the operation of a computer. When you clean your registry your computer becomes fragmented and system performance slows. These cleaners often remove what mustn't be removed and ignore items that should be. Proceed with caution.

        Re: Keeping CPU Clean

Anti malware/spyware apps are useless since your antivirus is supposed to detect everything from viruses to malware/adware. Some of the best antivirus software is ESET Smart Security or Kaspersky...but then again you won't need 'the best' if you know what you're doing. In fact, some people manage to keep their systems clean and safe with just windows firewall

i've been using smitfraud for the past four years. in the past, i've used spybot, bitdefender, avg, etc. (i currently use avira) for antivirus/anti-malware, and together with smitfraud, i've had no problems with my cpu.

lately, i've noticed some "propaganda" against smitfraud saying it's a trojan virus or malware.... i don't believe it. i strongly feel those are companies like norton, mcafee, and friends trying to scare people from using a free, simple dos-based program.
