Tell Me About Gandzak?

I just found out that my grandmother was originally from Gandzak, currently in Azerbaijan. I have tried to look up some information on this city (its history and its current predicament), but am having trouble finding any.

Could someone give me a brief background on the city's history, its strategic importance with regards to NKR conflict, and current Armenian designs on it (if any)?

Also, if there is any literature on Gandzak that you can recommend, that would be great.

That link didn't work for me, either. But I managed to find the PDF using Google. Search for "Gandzak + site:raa-am.com" and it should be one of the first links (it will specify that it is a PDF file).

Thanks, that way works. The old raa.am domain seems to be no longer used - its just redirected to raa-am.com
