Turkish police tear gas anti-government protesters
Re: Turkish police tear gas anti-government protesters
On the hour, the police move into the west side of the square, which is where they had started at until they all moved to the east side. Protestors had reoccupied the west side in their absence.

The police start firing cs gas into the northeast corner of the square - the only part left unaffected, There were police already in that location - so they have their riot shields raised so that they are not hit by the cansiters.

Got away from that by retreating into a side lane beside the Ataturk cultural centre, and from there, via side roads, walking all the way around back to the west side of the square again.
