I guess what John was trying to say by this book is that innocence is out of place in this world and that it will get slaughtered by its very own being. In order to save it and keep it innocent, one must preserve it that way forever, therefore Lenny died innocent so he will be innocent eternally, george didn't let the cruel world destroy him.

what amazes me was their friendship. George knew that Lenny was in the way and that it was because of him they had to keep running away, finding new jobs; yet he still stuck with him till the end. He took care of him as though he was his little brother, which is ironic when you compare the size of the two, (and wasn't Lenny older?)

which brings us back to the point that age is irrelevant.

          YUCK!

I hate Of Mice and Men.

I read it in 9th grade, and dreaded the damn book.

Another book I wasn't a big fan of was Native Son-read it in high School.

          Most violent xxxx ever.

The book was very well written, VERY descriptive- but extremely gruesome.

When the guy was cutting the girl's neck with the knife...you could not only picture the whole thing, but even hear the knife cutting through her neck, going xrttt.

          ugh

          anyone familiar with it?
