  • Old Armos Jay-Walking

What the hell's up with this? I saw 2 of them just today. One man was crossing the intersection while it was green for me. Then he just curves into the street I'm going to turn right into and pisses me off even more (although it was his right-of-way this time). Then, I saw a woman crossing a 4-lane street nowhere near a crosswalk. I'm surprised I didn't honk at these morons or even worse, curse 'em out. I kind of regret not doing so but I feel bad for old people. Has anyone else noticed this? I was telling my mom about it and she's like "that's why one gets run over just about every week" and it seems to be true.

They do it here too!! And they often get run over.... Yes, I feel bad for them, but..... if they're old and can't see or understand the pedestrian signs, maybe they shouldn't go out alone.... ><

This occurs alot on Glenoaks, and hogg your mom is right about them getting run over. You hear it on the news every couple of months. What's worse is at night, they are jay-walking across the dark streets and since most of them wear dark color clothing it's impossible to see them.

So what happens to someone if they accidentally run a pedestrian over because it was impossible to avoid hitting them?

Well, if you stick around and the cops come, you'll probably get charged... and who knows, get your license taken away from you for years... i don't know for sure...

Yes, most probably. They get right-of-way. I don't think you're supposed to move your car even if you see a pedestrian crossing while your light is green. And if you hit her, it's your fault, I believe. If it's at night and you don't see her, you might be blamed for not having strong lights on your car. Or maybe deteriorating vision.

I know, some laws are dumb, aren't they? Like some people.
