Perhaps no one has a difinitive answer to the point of life because the majority have grown complacent with mere survival and mediocrity. Comfortably numb.

Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

if there was no point to life we wouldnt be here and dont reply with maybe we.re not if we wern't this conversation wouldnt be tacking place like it or not we are here we do exist we got here somehow, this coment is made with the upmost love and respect for those who feel that maybe were not here you have a right to your beliefs as i have a right to mine but if you do feel that bad about the universe maybe you could seek someone to love if that isnt a point to live ill eat my computer hahahaha be happy sure you have to live to experiance life but it would have been nice if we all had a big sister who was prepared to show us and help us in the right direction just because the majority have grown complacent dosnt give you the right to unless you are making a consious desision to be complacent love do you think that when we were created by whomever we were created by that he, they, depending on your belief that our creator had it in his or her mind to create us without giving us a point to life why do we have pleasure centers in our brain god , if you like to call him that ,although i feel he prefure to be called by his name Yahweh had a definitive answer and if we so desire its up to us to find it but you first have to be able to see that there is a point i hope you will by open enough to at least contemplate the possibility that life might have a point if you can your allready there i send infinite and unconditional love to all of you and hope that your lives are full of whatever makes you happy have a nice day ian
dear catwoman im happy that you are not thinking about killing yourself this is a very positive attitude and it would be a shame to kill yourself only to find out that there was a piont to life and you missed noticing it also you are right when you say god or Yahweh is Armenian as he made us un his image so if you are amenian then he is also but what about people who are buddist or muslim or christian or raelian or ,well you get the picture

I'm far from complacent, Ian. My comment was mocking those that are, and suggesting that perhaps the reason we don't have possible answers is because we no longer think about the question. It's too freightening for most.
But I do have a question for you. If you say that there is a purpose, and that only our creator knows this purpose, and we must find it through him/them/it....what of those who don't believe in a creator? That's not much of an answer for them. In fact, one can argue that the concept of a creator was created by us because we don't have a concrete answer for the question of why we're here.

I dont think there is a point either. That doesnt have to be a negative thing.
Crimson, good job. I am interested in getting an answer to this question. We can brainstorm forever if we are determined to think of a purpose. I dont see the difficulty so many seem to have in accepting lack of a purpose.
Live your life with goodness and pleasure. Give your life a purpose if you want one. Mine is to create a family, see how high I can get in education/career, and to enjoy the ride. Nothing special

Dear omniscient yes i supose if you call a group of people who have a similar belief belonging to a church then i sort of belong to one although i do agree with the raelian phylosophy I do not nessacarily agree with the way the structure runs, we teach harmony but not everyone practices what is taught. To me one of the important things of my pilosopy is to live by your conscience or if you are told by anyone in the movement to do somthing that is against your conscience then dont do it.I am 35 and have had no english training exept school and i was never very good at that but i am only learning to type so i could make a few mistakes as i am trying to type my thoughts which are much faster than my fingers its ok if you want to flame me as i have no idea what that means I would love to be more articulate but i will have to rely on th passing of time and the fact that i am open to learning to allow that to happen, usually i try not to justify my actions just admit to my mistakes in my life i have made many
The next thread I found intriging and am glad to give my opinin if you agree to take it as it is ment I realy didnt mean to sugest that you were complacent and if that is how it came across i apologise i was mearly stating that you have that right if you wish. Also I did not mean that only the creators of humanity know the purpose of life, but if they created us with the ability to feel love and happiness then there is a purpose even if it is the pleasure of feeling the wind on your face it dosnt have to be a complex purpose. Although in my mind life is complex some people are happy not to have a purpose and thats great as well as we are all different (and the same)I feel it is in you,if you want to know you have to try to contemplate yourself if you find this hard start by trying to conttemplate yourself contemplainting yourself .If you dont believe in a creater then do you beleive in evolution becuase if you do you could consider the purpose of life is to evolve.I have an answer as to why we are here but i would rather not push it on anyone if you want to know ask me and i will tell you.although my knowledge is limited i can give you an address where you can download a free e book that will explain my philosophy better than i am able to, if you chose to read this book i can answer questions as best as my knowledge will allow.I
dont find it diffcult to accept a lack of purpose exept when I look at nature the planet and the universe and at my children if you strive to live your life with goodness and pleasure you have just given yourself a purpose wether you are prepared to admit it or not and i would not for one nanosecond agree with you with the most respect intended that your purpose of family education and enjoying the ride to be not special. I have had the pleasure of delivering one of my three girls and I can say it is one of the most special memories I own.I hope that i have answered your question well enough crimson but if not please let me know and ill try again love to you all ian

I knew you had something to do with a group, but I don't want want to get into that, as it was info for myself not to mention the fact I haven't written a long post on this forum for (I don't remember the last time I did) and don't want to get into my thoughts on this.
Flaming means bashing someone online, verbally assaulting them or ridiculing them, etc. and it was in regards to your spelling.
Anyway, carry on

just because i dont spell or type well dosnt mean i have a low level of consiousness but i do respect your right to not want to "get into it and will take my leave good luck also why do people want to bash eachother wether its online or in the open world it seems we havnt come that far from neandertals i would have thought if someone was trying to be helpful that it would be a nice thing sure its easy to be negative as a lot of and in the world is negative but if everyone made a little effort to be nice would that be such a bad thing anyway for anyone who is interested in a purpose and a reason go download the book and make your own mind up www.rael.org good luck bye
