What do the colors on the Armenian flag represent?

Did a google search and came up with this

Here are different interpretations that I have found of the colors of the Armenian flag

    1) A rainbow over Mount Ararat.

    2) Red is the blood shed and the whole is derived from the colours of the banners of the former kingdom of Cilicia. (I think this was in Crampton, 1990 [cra90]).

    3) A simple description of the colours says : vermilion red, ultramarine blue and apricot orange.

    4) A friend told me that he has heard : red : blood shed ; blue : eternal land of Armenia ; orange : courage.

    5) Finally a source not to be neglected, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Ottawa red : the sun's energy; blue : the clear sky; orange : the wheat at harvest.

The red represents the blood that was shed. The blue is hope or faith. Gold/Orange is land..........I think.

      I see...

Red, is the blood shed, blue is for the sky and the lakes/rivers, Orange is for the wheat (tzoren), basically the land.

I like the 1918 Coat of Arms better. Maybe its just me, but the closed mouth thing isn't working on the eagle and lion.
