  • Sherwin Williams

Anybody ever work for Sherwin Willaims? I'm talking to one of their recruiters. My only concern is getting trapped into a retail management position where I'm coming in at 8 am and leaving at 9 pm. Their starting salary is pretty good, but not if I'm working 13 hours plus per day.

I used to be in retail management, and it's hell. From employee management to shrink control and the hours and the stress is bs. Some people like it, I went thru it for 4 years, there were weeks where I had to work 70 hours+ because the other manager was on vacation. And then inventory control and worrying about shrink. BLAH!

Days working bell to bell was hell. Getting to the store at 8am, then closing at 9pm, sometimes staying until 10pm waiting for that last customer to finish and/or cleaning up preparing for the next days opening. There's a lot more but those are really the ones worht mentioning.

I like my "bankers hours" that I have now.

Yeah that's exactly how I remember retail when I was working as a lowly cashier. I would guess any retail operation is the same way....I'm still hoping somebody will come along with inside knowledge of Sherwin Williams.

Anyway I had the first interview, and I think I'm gonna get the "thanks but no thanks" letter in the mail any day now. I don't want to work there anyway, but it's not like there's a lot of options out there right now.
