What do you call your parents/grandparents?

Oh, also what about "Tantik"? I only know of one person ever reffered to by that title, my grandma's best friend Mari. We called her "Mari Tantik"... what does that mean exactly? Is it just a variation on the word T(D)atik?

When my grandparents were alive, I called them metz mama and metz papa.

I think that's the case with most Barsgahyes. Apparently other Armenians call them Medz as well, but it seems like all Barsgahyes do it.

Well Tantik means aunt. I call my friends mom that.

Oh Jan my grandfather passed away in January. The worst part is that I couldnt believe I would never see him again. He was like a rock nothing got to him nothing bothered him. Mostly I miss his voice.

We say nene and dede. WE as in myself, my brother, my sister, and all my cousins.

Actually....come to think of it now, we did call grandma nene, but grandpa medz baba. Don't know why.

I WANT MY GRANDPAaaaa man i only have one of each and havent seen the other two cause they passed away before i was born-
i refer to my gramps as papik- or dede-i think its arabic or turkish for grandpa- i dunno how or why but ive been callin my grandpa that ever since i remember- and i call my granny tatik- but yea i only havev my grams here and my grandad is in armenia i miss him sooo much- man i remember the day i ran away from home and ran to my grandpas house when i was 3- o do i miss those days!

Wow... I didn't expect this to turn into such a sad thread when I started it, was ust wondering about a languaje thing. Now I want my grandparents too...
