No - they (and you apparently) miss the point. The issue is that for us Armenians - a small in number people without huge conquests and such but with lots of national pride - well we are into this thing of individual Armenians doing well/being recognized and such. Its not debating if he is or not - its that if he is he is another one of us - and we think he is doing or is recognized as doing something noteworthy or worthwhile then we can look to him or point to others and say - see - he is one of us - and feel good about being Armenian. Anyway something like that. If you don't understand it its just because - your not Armenian!
You need the internet wannabe version of H.L. Mencken to make you feel good about being Armenian? Have it your way. If it really makes a difference to you what the ethnicity is of comedians that you enjoy, hey, it's your thing.
