It has no meaning to remind Armenians about how they occupy their neighbours territories since they always have excuses how they attacked their neighbours expulse hundreds thousans of Azeri refugees and how they still occupy those lands. I have several Algerian friends. While the case is indeed very different between the French-Algerian WAR and Armenian GENOCIDE by Turks, Algerians did in fact lose millions, mostly fighters though, while we lost men women and children, overwhelming majority of whom had never even touched a gun. Of course the French lost a huge number as well. In fact they had to pull all of their troops from the other African colonies to concentrate on Algeria, which is why most of the African countries achieved independence after Algerians won. As far as the French being above commiting crimes against humanity, it's ridiculous. What the French did in Indo-China is horrible. So they're very capable. But the relations between France and Algeria are improving every year. Just recently Algerian pres. Bouteflika made the first visit to France by an Algerian pres. The strange thing is that Algerians still use French to teach in schools and as the official language used in the government. Also, France has made some oppologies, but not really enough, to my liking anyways. I don't care about what the Fench say. The fact remains that as long as the Turks hold on to their past and make excuses and downplay they're ancestors' crimes against my people, they will continue to be worthy only of our suspicion and resentment.
Finally, Algerians unfortunately don't know much about the Armenian Genocide. However, they have very little respect for Turkey on account of Turkey's traitorous and self-beneficial relationship with Israel, with whom Algeria has no dimplomatic ties. I of course have done my part in educating my friends about the Armenian Genocide. Not surprizingly, they didn't have ANY problem whatsoever believing that Ottoman empire and the xxxxed up Young Turks were capable of such epic crimes. You must remember that the only Arab state which had a decent relationship with Turks was Egypt, simply cause it was ruled by a Ottoman vizier.
