There are many out there who will front the money for your equipment and time, if you have a relatively impressive portfolio.

I haven't completed a painting in two years. And at the time I had just begun my new series and disowned all of my old work. Essentially, I have no portfolio. All my stuff is just ideas on paper. But I don't want that sort of help anyway.
