interesting piece of Armenian trivia. I just caught the end of the 1993 movie "Calendar Girl", Jason Priestley played a character named Roy Darpinian, anyone seen the movie? Any references to him being Armenian?(besides the name of course)

Gibrarian from Solaris. In Tarkovsky's version you even see a book with Armenian characters open to a page with an Armenian church. He and Parajanov were good friends. I don't know Stanislav Lem's book so I don't know if the were added by Tarkovsky or already in the story.Comment

Why is it that we get so excited when we see any mention of our people or country in movies or books? You think Germans are saying "Oh my god there's a kid in the movie who says he's German. Cool!!".
That said, did anyone see the new flick "Must love Dogs". Oh my god, John Cussac (sp) and whatsherface have a dinner in Armenian restaurant and try to speak Armenian. Cool!!!Comment

What I ment to say was that it is utterly meaningless if an Armenian character is mentioned in a movie or a book. Now, if a tribute or praise is made to our history and culture, then it's something.
