This thread probably belongs in the philosophy forum, but that forum is monopolized by Ara. So if the mods feel they need to they can move there.
So what's the idea? Well I had kidney stones last year and it was the worst pain I ever had, the kind that there's no escape from. It lasted a week but on Saturday morning when it went away, I had such a natural high the whole weekend, I can't describe it.
Life was so beautiful. Colors were brighter and food tasted better. I accomplished more things than I had in 2 weeks (before stones).
So I had this idea that it would be actually a good idea to wake up in the morning with excruciating pain for about 20 mins. Then, the pain would go away the day would blossom into a pure euphoria. Of course our bodies would get used it and the post-pain euphoria would wane in strenth with time.
I'm halfway joking of course, but your thoughts on it and pain in general?
