Once upon a time
I was and wasn't young
Because of my birth time
And my birth kingdom

I'm from a people
With pride of its race
With a destiny
To conquer obstacle faced

I come from a nation
That strived close to the Lord
And with courage
Determined to push forward

My roots are from
One of the first civilizations
Who with hope and patience
Found realization

Though I am alive
Before me many have died
Reaching for equality
In justice to abide

I am not bound
By the limits of a nation
For God to all
The world as foundation

My voice to some is still
To others a thunder
It can't be silenced
In the presence of plunder

A leader to the world
I am part of
I will fill it
With humanity love

Though one day I'll die
'Cause I'm of the family of man
Still my spirit will soar
And help others to stand
