    Having a good anti virus is not a bad idea. At least you can use it to check the integrity of attachments and files that you get from various sources.

    AVG is an excellent one that is free. You can get it here.

    ... but on top of any such protection, it's a very good idea to keep the system updated with all the latest patches and security fixes (e.g. windows update). And yah, definitely don't click on stupid links by spammers (e.g. first post).
    lol i been using for years now and never had a problem, i don't even use any small program to do computer clean up...you just need to know what your doing, thats all

      Dude, if you've never cleaned your comp, how do you know you don't have anything? You may not have major viruses, but how do you know you don't have any malicious stuff, however small? At the very least, keep you Microsoft updateds coming and the firewall up.
