Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

I mean if you want to fight, why not go to other forums (like Turkish forums where they talk xxxx about Armenians, other displeasing forums etc) and insult them? Oh no!! They have the urge to say I'm a better Armenian than you! Oh chill out, accept others for what they are: rabiz, white-washed, wanna-be-thugs etc, and try to find other traits in them that associate with you. You can't change people by insulting them, you can just live your life as an example, and if they like what you got, they'll try their best to be like you.

    Having said that,
I have created a FLAMERS forum, where the users who want to insult and battle can go. I don't want to see any more insults in any of the forums except FLAMERS, and I hope Jahannam and others will inform me, if a such a case arises.

    Good Luck!
Make a surfing forum too. That would be sick. As far as insulting cases go, I will have to be the first tatle tale. Jahannam is ruining many threads with chat room style foruming. I dont want to see other Armenians kicked off this website, it is a place where we congregate, but I would like to see a "chatroom" forum set up if you could do that. This way, people who thrive on straying off track, and need excess attention can go there and do there thing without ruining quality intelligent threads. Every bit of that was serious ac. I hope you take this into consideration

    Thank you.

        Thank you.
Just wanted to remind you that I was the first person trying to get rid of "chat room style foruming"...
I was the one who came up with that phrase..."chatroom style foruming"...

and please don't make cold assumptions...
ask Flames... it was Friday afternoon... me, Flames, anon and patlajan were foruming, and most of the "work in progress" threads in General Talk (the first 6 or 7 threads) were all about back and forth insults between anon and patlajan... if you go to those threads you'll know what I'm talking about...
we couldn't forum for xxxx... the last 2 pages of every thread was them two bashing each others' moms...
so It really got on my nerves... and I happen to be an impatient person, so after telling them several times in the threads to stop it, they wouldn't, and so I ran to ac... get it? good...

AC, please don't ban me for saying this (I don't feel like I can express my true opinions anymore for fear of being banned), but why are you so hostile? Can't you be a bit more understanding? I mean, you let people like SpeakEnglishOrDie roam free, yet you pounce on us for having some friendly fun. I understand that turning threads into battlefields, as Jahannam said, is annoying, and I agree, but you're not allowing any flexiblity at all. You're being too authoritarian.

You seem to justify all your actions by the fact that this site is free. That's not fair.

Nothing personal, i'm sure others are doing it too. Everybody let's just try to make the forums more friendly. There has been almost 10k posts, and 393 members, however only 15 users have contributed on over 80% of posts. I think if you guys are more friendly with each other, the newbies will be less intimidated to participate. This is a community, the more people bring in their input, the better. Otherwise, it's going to get boring ...same material over and over... :!:

i really don't think it has anything to do with intimidation, i highly doubt a person can be intimidated by a person posting something, i mean if that were true don't we all intimidate each other? i mean u mr ac tried to intimidate me by erasing the post i had left, granted i swore in it by accident, but do u see me getting scared off? sorry ur ganna have to try a little harder then that to get rid of me. lol a person faces intimidation in everyday life constantly if they cant handle a post that has constructive criticism from a total complete stranger whom they may never meet how do they expect to survive in the outside world? i think we have the usual posters do to habit and do to we are capable enough of putting our input into a topic and open to suggestion even if we may not like it. that's what it comes down to being capable of realizing that it is ok for someone to have a different opinion then urs. wouldn't u all say so?
