Saddam Hussein sentenced to death

So I just heard on the news that Saddam was sentenced to death by hanging, which is the method used in Iraq.

I don't think he should die. I believe it would be a better punishment for him to rot in jail and work for his food and clothing.

Anyway, may God protect those soldiers in Iraq because hell will break loose.

Yeah, i think death would be the easy way out, but if he's dead at least there's the guarantee that he'll never stir up trouble again.

So we invaded Iraq, caused the deaths of tens, possibly hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and thousands of coalition soldiers so Saddam Hussein could be tried in some farce of a trial over the deaths of 148 people and hanged? Am I the only one who sees a problem with that?
