Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

This guy actually says it better than me...

I have studied extensively about the Armenian-Turkish relations starting late 1400 to early 1920s. What I found through 1000s of books and letters written from Ottoman Empire of the American ambassador Henry morganthaw, secret British and German telegraphs and the famous xxxish historian franz Verfel, and thousands of photographs of massacred Armenians, that there indeed was a Ottoman government sponsored massacres against their Armenian subjects. I am not an Armenian, nor a symphatizer, but someone who studied extensively about this subject. No one in his right mind can deny the fact that a Genocide did not happen. Of course people who have biases against Armenians will forever deny this fact, I met some Europeans who have called Armenians ugly, 13th xxxish tribe and so on and so forth, but history will prove them wrong. The great nations of todays world need Turkey's assistance (NATO) and it's strategic location, but when their(Turkey's) usefullness to the Western world is done with, the truth will finally come out. Besides Turkey needs to come to terms with it's past, like Germany, accept the facts and move on to be a greater nation. Some Turks are realizing that there really was a Genocide against the Armenians, and some brave Turkish historians, writers and scholars are talking about this taboo subject. According to my Turkish friend, Mehmet Bal, Turks think that once Turkey accepts responcibility of the Genocide, Armenians will ask the return of their historic lands. This is not true at all. According to the Armenians, there is left not one single Armenian on those lands, therefore they are not interested one bit about these lands. Besides these lands are populated mostly by Kurds, who number about 17 million in Turkey alone. In any case, I hope that there still is a hope and a chance that Armenians and Turks will come together and live peacefully once these small issues are resolved. I wish both of these peoples good luck. marco craxi

I might be naive. I don't claim that I'm not naive. I TRY not to be, though. Who knows? You could be naive in some ways, also.

But, in all fairness (crusader), I also didn't not read your post all that carefully...

Until you are fully able to make an intelligent statement on matters concerning the Genocide (which would require research, reading and study), I would let others do your thinking for you (preferably Armenians).

I mean really...you don't even put in the effort to read a one paragraph post. What's with that?

              Anahita,

Attached is an interesting essay related to educated genocide deniers...please read it.

I was saying that you should cite the 'this guy' article if YOU didn't write it and pretend like some third party backs you up. I am a little senstive about citations for information (that's why I put so many links in my posts.) I don't write something pretending to cite, though.

I will read the article you cited in the most recent post. I appreciate many contributions I've read by you. I'm having trouble with this thread, though.

[Edit, Again, about citations. The quote just you gave "I might be naive..." was something I wrote. You posted that as something Sip said. I'm thinking Sip probably doesn't want my words to be quoted as his words... I might post a thread on posting and citations]

It's ok. I doubt too many people think I am naive ... especially when it comes to this topic

I trust that is true (this meaning your position on genocide). Still, I'd guess that you wouldn't want what I say being attributed to you, sweetheart. I don't want my words/ideas confused with yours... that was my point.

I appreciate your concern. But again, I HIGHLY doubt anyone would confuse your posts with mine. We are so opposite in how we think, it's not even funny (assuming I understand what you post since most of the time I have no clue what all the words/lyrics/etc mean).
