    PRESS RELEASE / NEW BOOK
    ********************************************
    ARA BALIOZIAN IN FRENCH
    *************************************************
Paris: A new book by Ara Baliozian titled PERTINENTES / IMPERTINENCES has just come out in a French translation by Mireille Besnilian, Denis Donikian, and Dalita Roger. It is a collection of his most recent observations and reflections on our history and the manner in which it has shaped our character and identity as a nation.
Ara Baliozian was born in Athens, Greece, and educated in Venice, Italy. Widely published in English and Armenian, he has been awarded many prizes and grants for his literary work in several genres. His books include THE GREEK POETESS AND OTHER WRITINGS, ARMENIA OBSERVED: AN ANTHOLOGY, FRAGMENTED DREAMS: ARMENIANS IN DIASPORA, and the best-selling study, THE ARMENIANS: THEIR HISTORY AND CULTURE. His translations of such Armenian classics as Grigor Zohrab, Zabel Yessayan, and Kostan Zarian have been described as “valuable,” “eloquent,” and “brilliant” contributions to world literature. “I read everything Ara Baliozian writes with fascination and gratitude,” William Saroyan has said.
The book can be ordered from Denis Donikian at [email protected] in France, and from Mkrtich Matevosian at [email protected] in Armenia. ($20.00 includes postage and handling).

    Bravo, Ara.
    Between childhood, boyhood,
    adolescence
    & manhood (maturity) there
should be sharp lines drawn w/
    Tests, deaths, feats, rites
    stories, songs & judgements

        Re: new book

This guy is a historian? In his notes/comments thread, he was comparing the Armenian situation during the genocide to the American revolution. I gave him a clear response, showing that his comparison is naive at best, and he never responded.

Oh ya, he also tried to show that Armenians are inherently fascist by saying that the Armenians in Hitler's army were all volunteers, which is not even true.

After familiarizing myself with the 'historical' analyses in his posts, I can't even imagine what the hell he writes in his books (I hope its something better).

Look what you said in your own notes/comments thread:

Maybe thats why he was fascinated with your book. I'm not saying that to pass judgement on your book, but to show the double-standard and selectiveness of your logic, which I have noticed is at a much higher degree during your rants about Armenians.

Absolutely not, a historian has some shred of objectivity, Ara B is more like a attention xxxxx. He uses this message board and many others to revitalize his failed career as a writer. There is no shred of originality in what he posts and most of the time, he just bashes Armenians, there is nothing really "intellectual" or "exciting" about his opinions.

Even if it were true so what? I'd rather be a facist than a judeo-bolshevik f**k.

And this retard (ara) cracks me up, he spreads his press release on a forum...wtf? An attention w**** might be an understatement.

For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

              Re: new book

Let's not give this Ara Baliozian character the satisfaction of thinking that he is one of our writers and/or intellectuals. As far as a writer is concerned, Ara is only worthy of being considered a mediocre writer, at best. As far as his intellect is concerned, Ara is an intellectual midget. And as far as him being an Armenian is concerned, Ara is not an Armenian. The aforementioned characteristics of Ara are the fundamental reasons why he has been rejected from Armenian society. While Armenians adore, even worship, their poets and writers - Kaputikyan, Sevag, Charents, Isahakian, Tumanyan, Ishkhan, Varujan, Raffi, Emin - just to name a few, this "Ara Baliozian" character remains virtually nameless. And this is the essential reason why we see his anger, his disgruntlement and his self-hate.

In Ara's twisted mind, had he been an American, a Canadian, or simply a westerner, he would have gained fame... However, since Ara writes for "Ottomanized Armenians" and "Gazetajis" he has gotten no where...

Nevertheless, his works are essentially depositories of his self-hate, egomania, delusion, hysteria and disgruntlement. As any self-respecting Armenian can see from his written crap, the depth of Ara's emotional/intellectual problems are bottomless. I personally read Ara's irrational rants just to observe firsthand the kind of psychological damage diasporan Armenians suffer from. In short: Ara's written crap is nothing but the 'brain-farts' of a self-hating egomaniac living in the twilights of his life.

There are Armenians who assimilate and disappear without a trace. And then there are assimilated ones like Ara... The problem with his kind, however, is that once they 'assimilate' they continue sticking around to give us 'advise.'

If I was to describe Ara's literary work with one word it would undoubtedly be - GARBAGE
