We are the children and the people of Urartu (Ararat), we are Urartians, Sis and Masis are part of our genes.

I'm Armenian and consider Ararat as a sacred place. Every time people (foreigners I mean) hear I come from Armenia they always speak about Ararat. Mainly saying Ararat is a symbol of Christianity. Why is it in Muslim country? Well, I tell them the history in case they are not familiar with and I feel a heartache every time:-(

There is a movie ''Voyage en Arménie'' or ''Journey to Armenia'' by Robert Guédiguian where this question is addressed.

    Ararat brands
    Ararat first name
    etc.etc.

I guess it must be a sacred name

It is still special and holy for all Armenians; has been for over 4000 years.

For the last century, in almost every Armenian diaspora from Iran to Glendale CA you will see visuals of Mt. Ararat in Armenian homes .... institutions, business with the name Ararat ... not to mention the movie Ararat. It symbolizes us, Armenians.

I am not an Armenian but I believe that one of the most special and important symbols and monument to Armenian people. It is such a sad and disgrace to see it under turk control when they do even care nor have any interest in It. Interest as having any importance to them or culture.
