  • Question From "Traditional man and country"

The goal of this thread is not to discuss evolution, I just had a simple question but Anonymouse thought that it was "off-topic" based on some obscure "unwritten, unconsciuous rule" and was asked to create a new thread.
It seems weird to start a new thread just to ask a question, but....

Unless you show that the principles of Molecular Biology are totally wrong than there will be evolution as long as there is life. Evolution is more than a concept. Evolution is more likely to happen than the sun rising again.

Would you care to tell us why the principles of Molecular Biology are wrong?

Life wouldn't exist without the sun.

First of all, yes it would exist. Start with this http://pubs.acs.org/cen/news/83/i26/8326notw3.html and if you want to know more then google.

Second of all, it does not answer my question.

"If the finding is confirmed, the organisms would be the first known to use a light source other than the sun, suggesting the possibility of life in other sunless environments, such as Jupiter's moon Europa."

"Their announcement comes with some strong caveats, however. The authors can't say for sure whether the bacteria are actually indigenous to the vents. There's a chance, they note, that the organisms could have drifted into the collection area from elsewhere, where sunlight could have supported them."

Yeah... so much for that theory.

The point is that photosyntheis may happen without sunlight and under different conditions life happens differently, so for my purposes it does not matter "whether the bacteria are actually indigenous to the vents" or not.

Your statement that life wouldn't exist without the sun is also a theory

As far as the planet WE live on, it's a FACT. If not the sun, there has to be another form of energy. Try growing a plant without light or water... doesn't work too well.

I see that you have modified your original statement and have moderated your views.
My statment was was about life and not about a particular form of life. Different forms of life would/could exist in different energetic conditions.

By the way, it's NOT a fact even on planet earth, whether you like it or not your statement is a theory because life on our planet is may be more diverse than you'd think. I've already gave an example.

No, I corrected a spelling mistake and added another sentence....

Until it CAN be proven false and denied, it's a fact.

Going from a universal statement to a specific one limited to planet earth, is called modifying and moderating. But even if limited to the planet earth, it is a theory
