Pre Columbian Mesoamerica and Armenia

So I told freakyfreaky I'd create a thread with similarities pre Columbian with Mexico and Armenia, aside from the recent similarities and differences due to Christian doctrine and similar imperialism that happend, there is loads that can be told of :

Religion :

Pre Columbian Religion had a pantheon of Gods, at the centre was the Sun God, in worship the oldest God was the Fire God, offerings were made of fire to deities the same as in Zoroastrian Armenia.

We have personified Gods for Planets, our Earth mother was as an example female as well and had the same attributes (fertility, maternal, beauty).

Our Holy Mountain is Popocatepetl with it's twin peaks, the Mesoamericans believed that the mountains were the mother of the Earth and we all came out of mountains/caves to the rest of the world.

We had a sacred lake, called the great lake Texcoco, this was considered sacred to us and the Mexica built their empire on this very lake, it was drained after Columbus by a German Engineer, modern Mexico City stands here now at was once Tenochtitlan (Tenoch's land).

We practised Lunar and Solar worship and had two seperate calenders.

The snake become Holy only after Quetzalcoatl, before the Eagle was always the holy symbol of all Native Americans, the figure of Quetzalcoatl is similar to Faravar, a man resembling an Eagle who taught us language, philosophy and sciences (The man who it was based on was Toltec prince Ce Acatl Topiltzin Quetzalcoatl) and founded the main religion, although his full Toltec philosophy was actually a work that was meant to be scientific, not taken religiously.

I'm not at all implying there is a relation, I know it's absurd according to history and geography, not to mention language, but gotta admit kinda interesting no

Honestly bro, I hear this from all over the world, all these similarties of worship and symbolism. I think there is some connection there. Thanks for the info btw. I have some questions that I will ask you later, about Mesoamerica.

Interesting Pedro, here in the Andes the examples of Pre-Columbian Mexico also apply, with its difference of course. For example, it holds the pantheon of Gods inside the elements of nature, with Sun God being the center.

In Ecuadorean tradition (by Ecuadorean I mean the tradition of the old communities in the region), the history of how earth was created refrains from old stories by locals featuring the Mountains, Peaks and Volcanoes of the Andean Highland. It is also a big story resembling the life of the people carved out of the mountains. As a few examples, every single mountain/mount/volcano/peak, etc. has a gender, hence the Cotopaxi Volcano (the highest in the whole region) is called "Taita Cotopaxi" ("Father Cotopaxi", "Taita" being Qichua for "Father"), and another close Volcano called Tungurahua is called "Mama Tungurahua" (no need to explain), and a little one near the capital is called "Güagüa Pichincha" ("Child/Baby" Pichincha).
