OK, I just looked up this ACO glossary you and dusken mentioned. This was my point...
For example, the word "bugatty" in the book means rich - from my knowledge, the Russian word for rich is "bah-gah-ti" (pronounciation-wise). You see the similarities? All of the words, although not perfectly spelled to follow proper pronounciation, were Russian words (the ones that looked non-English to me, that is).

Originally posted by loseyourname Read the forward, you dork. There is an explanation of what the language is and how it was invented. It's an evolution of both Russian and English, with many of the words bearing a resemblance to present words, but modified. Some are completely new. There is an appendix in my copy that I didn't have to download that says what all the words mean. It isn't the easiest way to read, but it worked.

Originally posted by sSsflamesSs Loser, it's NOT an entirely new language - it's Russian. Believe me, I'd know. But still, it's one thing to see Russian words in Russian letters, and a whole different story when you see Russian words in English letters. The same goes for any language.

Originally posted by dusken Most of it is Russian. If you are truly interested you can find ACO glossaries on the internet that tell you the origin. Some are, in fact, invented. And, none of this takes away from the fact that it is a fantastic book. I understood it just fine.

I was just wondering how someone that didn't know Russian would be able to comprehend the majority of what was happening, since you can't even understand the meanings of the words by reading them in context. I don't know, just a thought.
